Speakerbus introduces eight-channel endpoint for IP and digital deployments
13 Jul 2010, 01:00:00
Speakerbus, supplier of trader voice solutions for the equity, capital and wealth management segments of the financial industry, has announced a new endpoint for its trader voice products. The SE708 is a multi-channel endpoint that carries the heritage of Speakerbus' SB 534 Global Trader Voice Platform into the next generation of IP-enabled communications solutions.
The SE708, based upon Speakerbus' modular desktop technology, includes support for SIP and specialized multi-party voice services over IP networks. In keeping with its current i turret technology, Speakerbus' SE 708 has a color, thin film transistor (TFT) display powered by a dual digital signal processor (DSP) architecture running embedded Linux. The adaptable device can process multiple concurrent VoIP streams to deliver telephony, eight programmable speaker channels and global intercom services.
"With a digital platform installed base of more than 40,000 traders, the challenge was to deliver a product that protects customer investment and enables IP migration," said Charles Miscampbell, product group manager for Speakerbus. "The product is shipping today with firmware that communicates with the digital SB 534 while we complete the development of the SIP-enabled applications as part of our Phoenix project, the next-generation trader voice platform, due to launch in Q2 of 2011. The devices can be upgraded over the LAN or WAN to complete the migration to pure IP-based communications."
The SE708 V1.0 is available today for use with the SB 534 system, with a retail price of $2,250 USD.
Speakerbus will deliver release V1.1 later in 2010 to support IP connection to the SB 534, and the SIP-enabled release 2.0 is expected in Q2 of 2011.
